Welcome!

I plan to build my career in graphic design, using it as a platform to merge creativity with impact. I am committed to creating work that is visually compelling, strategically thoughtful, and culturally aware. My studies in art history inform this future, grounding my design practice in composition and a deeper understanding of where we have been, allowing me to create work that connects meaningfully to the world we live in now.

Rooted in,

I was born in Hawaii and moved to Alaska shortly after, where I was raised. I loved growing up there. Alaska gave me space to explore who I was, and I found a strong sense of connection through volleyball and soccer. Art was always in the back of my mind, something I gravitated toward instinctively, but it did not feel like a defined path until my senior year of high school. That was when it became clear that I did not just enjoy art, I wanted to pursue it seriously.

I chose to attend Montana State University without ever visiting the campus. It was a leap of faith that paid off immediately. I found my place at the campus Gallery and built meaningful friendships and creative connections within the program. The community shaped me just as much as the coursework did.

MY GOAL?

"I aim to build a career in graphic design that merges creativity with impact, creating work that is visually compelling, strategically thoughtful, and culturally connected."

Abroad...

Studying abroad in Italy was the most transformative experience of my education. I worked harder than I ever had and allowed myself to be fully immersed. Seeing artwork in person that I had previously only studied in books shifted something in me. It deepened my emotional connection to art in a way I did not know was possible and pushed me to a new level of seriousness about my practice.

While at MSU, I discovered a passion for art history that continues to define my work. Italy intensified that interest beyond anything I expected. Art history sharpened my contextual awareness and taught me how to see design as part of a larger cultural conversation. It strengthened my ability to tell visual stories with intention rather than instinct alone. It trained my eye to analyze composition, symbolism, and meaning with precision. It also gave me historical perspective, which allows me to design with awareness of what has been done before and how to push beyond it.

Let's be real.

I love graphic design because it allows me to communicate ideas clearly and powerfully. I love art history because it gives those ideas depth. My style is bold, graphic, and direct. I am drawn to work that is eye catching and intentional, and I actively avoid anything that feels templated or predictable. Together, graphic design and art history allow me to create work that is visually striking but also grounded in research, context, and purpose.
